What Are We? - Aims & Objectives
The Aim of Body Positive Tayside
Body Positive Tayside exists to empower hiv and hcv positive people and those directly personally affected to eliminate the stigma and isolation they experience.The Objectives of Body Positive Tayside
- To provide opportunities for people to come together for peer support from throughout Angus, Dundee and Perth and Kinross.
- To encourage active involvement in the delivery of project services.
- To address stigma and discrimination at all levels in an attempt to eliminate the stigma associated with BBVs (blood borne viruses).
- To aim for equity of access.
- To provide a holistic approach in supporting people at all levels: providing psychological, physical and emotional health through the development of social, educational and leisure activities.
- To promote the project services
- To provide a framework in which positive people are actively involved in the expertise and infrastructure of BPT.
- To provide people with reliable information with which to make meaningful choices about different aspects of their lives.
- To develop the role of volunteers in line with project development.
