WHAT IS THE ONE TO ONE SUPPORT SERVICE
The One to One Service offers one to one support to service users by trained volunteers and/or staff member. The service is unique and flexible as it means that people can access support when they feel they need it in a discreet way. No-one need know that you receive this support unless you choose to tell them yourself. It is designed to compliment existing support that people may have in their lives not replace it.
WHAT DOES A ONE-TO-ONE SUPPORT VOLUNTEER DO
A One-to-one support volunteer can provide support in many different ways. It all really depends on what a service user is looking for. Examples of support that a One-to-One support volunteer can provide include:
- Meet with you on a regular basis for a coffee and a chat.
- Provide a listening ear, someone that you can talk to in confidence.
- Accompany you to social events (e.g. a night out at the pictures).
