What We Offer - Complementary TherapiesThe following therapies are currently offered by the project through the use of qualified sessional therapists. If you do not see the therapy you wish listed below, phone the office as it maybe that one of our therapists offers your desired therapy. Currently AvailableAromatherapyThe use of essential oils each of which has specific properties. The oils can be used to massage parts of the body. Massage can be used to relax or stimulate. ReflexologyReflexology works on the principle that all the organs and areas of the body are represented by areas on the feet. By using deep compression massage of the feet this can help chronic problems over a period of time. By unblocking the energy channels the flow of energy is rebalanced and the toxins are removed. ReikiThe recipient lies on a couch (fully clothed) and the practitioner gently places their hands, non-intrusively, in a sequence of positions all over the body. The practitioner is a channel that the energy is drawn through by the need in the recipient. Reiki supports the body's natural ability to heal itself. AcupunctureUsed in China for over 3,000 years this treatment consists of inserting very fine stainless steel needles into the skin along energy channels to unblock, increase or reduce the flow of energy or to maintain the body in a healthy balanced state. ChiropractorHealing by massage and manipulation of joints. Indian Head MassageThis half-hour treatment covers massage of the neck, shoulders, arms, face and scalp. It can be done over the clothes and provides relief from physical and mental tension.
Possible new TherapiesIf there is a complementary therapy you would like to try that we do not currently offer, we will strive to provide your desired therapy. This will depend on availability locally and cost. AvailabilityFor members living locally, we offer therapies in our specially equipped therapy room, but for members in rural areas, we can organise for our therapists to visit at home. Therapies are free to members, but are limited. So phone the office and make an appointment. If members wish to access more therapies that the budget will allow, we can organise for private therapies with our therapists (many offer a discount to members). Our therapy room is available free for these sessions. |
